ABOUT ALBERTON®.........
ALBERTON® is Japan's first full-scale American duck fabric manufacturer. The origin of the name dates back to the 1830s, when textile factories were lined up along the rivers on the east coast of America, and the Patapsco River basin in Baltimore, Maryland was no exception. After the massive flood of 1868, the textile town was called "ALBERT" in 1870, until 1938, when the name was dropped due to the prolonged Great Depression.
For our vintage line, we use the same looms as those used in 1870 as much as possible, while also utilizing modern weaving techniques to weave our fabrics. You can enjoy the texture of ancient fabrics that have been forgotten as technology has advanced.
ATTENTION
Due to the nature of the material, the main fabric may fade or transfer color due to friction or getting wet. The white color has dots called neps mixed in due to the nature of the material.
